Good or bad, I don't know and I'm not sure at the time of writing this how often this page gets seen by anyone at all but I do think it's time for some more relevant content.

But, what to do? More images? Blog posts on my ridiculous life? I think I'm over all that. I've been repeating the cycle of revamping the site, getting psyched on blogging, quickly forgetting about it, and then letting the site sit for another year without an update and I don't want to do that again.

Taking it down isn't an option. I like to have my space on the web and besides that the site has been up so long and ranks so high in search engine results that it could turn into a useful tool for creating traffic to other sites.

If you have any ideas, please let us know. If not, check back in the months to come to see where this thing goes.

After burgers one night while climbing at Joe's Valley we cautiously decided to check out some of the local night life. Check out the pics from our night out.

Before i left for utah justin found a 24 MRE on the side of the road near his house. I ate (almost) nothing but that box of food 2 days ago. See the complete image gallery or click links below for each individual image.

The MRE came in a box with a rangecard on one side and a menu on the other. When i woke up in the morning i laid the contents out and tried to decide what i would eat when throughout the day.

The menu card on the back told me to have meatballs for breakfast so i discarded the box and made the 'chocolate drink'. The backbone of this hearty start to my day was a very dry (just the way i like it) oatmeal biscuit. Luckily id had a lot of pasta the night before.

After such a filling first meal I had to go for lunch pretty quickly. I picked out one of the two entrees: meatballs & pasta. To go along with it i grabbed a yorkie bar (no chicks?) and biscuits - brown but quickly decided to change over to
biscuits - fruit and save the brown for a little snack i had planned for later on. The meatballs were about as tasty (and cold) as unheated chef boyardee but went down ok. The biscuits were all really dry and papery but the fruit ones had enough sugar in them to get down.

After hanging around in town for the first part of the day we sat down to watch a movie and i went for my beef pate. It was gross. A lot like pureed beenie weenies. I still ate most of it.

When dinner came around I was psyched for another entree. The one left was labeled CHICKEN & HERB DUMPLINGS MAY CONTAIN BONES HL. I ignored this warning and dove right in. Not bad! Not too good either and, since this 24hr food ration was very conspicuously void of heater packs, also very cold. I ate every last bit of it from the bottom of the bag.

Before bed, but after a few beers, i went for the last food item i dared to eat: chocolate pudding. It was more like malt-o-meal and i had to squish it up before opening to get the pudding part mixed with the malt-o-meal part. I guess i didnt squish enough because it was so dry and bland i couldn't
finish it.

So, the only items i didnt eat from the box was some chicken soup broth, an orange drink mix, and all the condiments and laxative gums that were included. The only things i did eat during the day that weren't included in the MRE were a few handfuls of doritos, a bottle of wine, some vodka, and some beer.

Overall i wasnt very hungry during the day but i also didnt do anything physical at all. If id been climbing or trying not to get my under armored hummer blown up by an IED id probably have died. Hopefully Uncle Sam has raised the bar on food for our soldiers in the 5 years since mine was made.

It snowed about an inch last night and this morning so we had to take our first unplanned rest day. It's snowed before today but always on days we weren't planning on climbing anyway. So we hopped over to Huntington (about 10miles away) and went to the army surplus store which was closed but we called a number on the sign and someone came down and opened it up for us and we bought some rad cold weather stuff and stylie dollar shirts. Here's some pics of the last couple of days where we worked mostly on establishing new lines and one or two old classics. The one pic of me is on my first ever FA (first ascent) which i dubbed 'Castle Dale Nights' after the small town we go eat burgers (and flirt with HS girls) in.

AND, i've decided to spend this summer in Estes Park, Co to be closer to good climbing. I'm definitely going to miss the hot summers and good friends in the ATX but im starting to get really excited for seeing new places and people and doing the 'throw yourself in and see if you can swim' thing one more time. maybe im addicted to the new.

Here's some more shots of us climbing in the joe's valley and a couple of us sitting at the food ranch - the only place in town with wireless internet access, the food ranch is a grocery store and gas station and deli and they sell guns and crash pads and climbers chalk packaged in the same stuff meat comes in. Plus! an animated gif of yuri gathering firewood and marlon getting the fuck out of the way.

OK ive got some actual rock climbing pictures coming sometime but in the meantime here are some (probably more interesting to you) bored on a rest day pictures. you can't climb everyday and this is what you do on the days you don't.

Hey ppls! I got an astro van for 500 bux and am attempting to drive it to joe's valley in utah. The first day was really rough with about 10 stops to let the tranny cool down but after dumping about a gallon of (extra) transmission fluid on a kmart parking lot in abilene it's been running a lot smoother. I did have a flat today but a tow truck came after hours (and my ins company should reimburse that fee) and i was on the road again soon. Right now im in a coffee shop (thats about to close) in downtown albuquerque. pretty cool town so far. tomorrow im going to get a spare tire and hopefully have someone check out the alignment on the van. check out the pics so far.

I've taken quite a few photos lately. Most of them are point and shoot quality just so we can look at what we did. The first set is from my trip home last weekend. The next is a gallery full of images taken during sxsw. The last set is of a peace parade we were all in. And finally, a video of me falling.

We've got a new look but it's not quite done. I changed up the front page and everything should still work but all the rest of the pages are going to have the old look for a few days. Send a letter to the editor and tell us what you think!

I just realized that comments on blog posts weren't working so i fixed that (still a little dirty looking) and I wanted to let all know that I'm in Austin for the rest of this month. If you are here or come through here holla at a nigga. <3

About 2 hours up the road from Horse Pens is a place in Georgia called Rocktown. A switchback road leads you 1200 feet up the hill to a collection of sandstone boulders in a secluded forest. We spent the last 3 days of our trip trying out roofs and more slopey top outs. Check it out the pics and watch out for some video soon.

Justin and I drove to Horse Pens 40 about 30 minutes outside Birmingham, Al on Friday to slap some sweet southern sandstone slopers in the forested hills. After one day our tips are too raw to continue without rest. Check out the pictures I took of the day.

I got a canon rebel xti recently. Here's some pictures I took yesterday on East and East Spur at the Hueco Tanks of Yuri, Stephanie, and Todd.
